Born in Turin in 1969, he holds a degree in History and Film Criticism. He is a freelance journalist and a member of the SNCCI (Italian National Union of Film Critics). He has been a regular contributor to the cinema series published by Historica and Il Foglio Letterario.
Together with Giorgio Navarro, he co-authored Tomas Milian – Er cubbano de Roma (I.M.E.). His published works include The Cinema of Tobe Hooper (Falsopiano), Once Upon a Time in the West by Sergio Leone (Libreria Universitaria), and The Cinema of Mel Gibson (Il Foglio).
He has collaborated with the Turin Film Festival, the Venice International Film Festival, the Ferrero Prize in Alessandria, and contributed to the programming of the National Cinema Museum of Turin. He also served as artistic director of the Santena Corto Film Festival.
In 2006, he published The Cinema of Sam Raimi (Il Foglio) and The Citizen Rebels: The Cinema of Enzo G. Castellari (Mondo Ignoto), co-written with Gordiano Lupi. In 2012, he co-edited with Stefano Giorgi the monograph The Revenge of the Anti-Heroes: The Cinema of Nicolas Winding Refn (Il Foglio). In 2016, he curated The Cinema of Claudio Caligari (Il Foglio). In 2017, he co-edited Help! The Cinema of Richard Lester with Roberto Lasagna and Anton Giulio Mancino (Il Foglio). In 2020, he curated Frontiers: Franco-Belgian Horror Cinema of the 2000s. In 2021, he co-edited The Cinema of Paul Verhoeven with Antonio Pettierre. In 2023, he co-edited Kathryn Bigelow: The Art of Plastic Dynamism with Antonio Pettierre. In 2024, he curated the monograph Kurt Russell: The Anarchic Hero of American Cinema, and co-edited Criminal Noir: The Cinema of Pete Walker with Rudy Salvagnini.
