LO SQUALO di Eugenio Sideri
2021, Italia,12’
The short film Lo shark by Eugenio Sideri is dedicated to the 13 workers who died on March 13, 1987 in a tanker at the port of Ravenna. A tragedy that really happened while 13 workers were engaged in maintenance operations on behalf of the Mecnavi company, hired without regular contracts and in the absence of security measures. Following a short circuit and in the absence of fire extinguishers, a fire breaks out that kills them by suffocating them. On the anniversary, the Ravenna-based director Eugenio Sideri made this short film, born as a theatrical script, which revives the dark shadow that falls on the city on that day. The story takes place through the words of Arturo Benelli, played by Enrico Caravita, towards an imaginary friend and victim, called Gismondi.
